Amazon Operations is central to the company's business. As a Senior Operations Manager, you will be responsible for operational metrics and developing strategies to meet customer needs and advance operational performance.
The role involves leading, developing, and growing a large team while coaching and empowering team leaders. You will focus on operational excellence, workplace safety, budget and capacity planning, and strategic planning for upcoming business periods, particularly peak seasons.
🔑 Key Responsibilities
- Develop team members and identify future leadership talent.
- Monitor operational metrics and overall business performance.
- Contribute to budget planning, considering financial requirements and workforce planning.
- Maintain high standards in operational health and safety.
- Develop strategic plans for the next three, six, and twelve months.
- Plan for peak seasons and prepare appropriate contingency plans.
- Take ownership of leaders within the assigned area, including performance reviews and feedback conversations.
- Coach and support leaders in their professional development.
- Drive quality and productivity initiatives across operational areas.
- Develop strategies to meet customer commitments and improve operational performance.
🎓 Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related analytical field such as Engineering, Mathematics, or Computer Science.
- Alternatively, a bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification and experience supporting month-end closing processes and contributing to financial reporting under established procedures.
- Experience in stakeholder management, working with multiple stakeholders at different organizational levels.
- Fluent spoken and written German and English at C1 level or above.
- Experience in manufacturing, production, distribution logistics, retail, or grocery management environments.
⭐ Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with and managing third-party vendors.
- Master's degree in Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, Logistics, Computer Science, or an equivalent field.
- Experience using Six Sigma tools and Lean techniques.
