This strategic leadership role is responsible for transportation planning, operational excellence, vendor management, technology adoption, and financial performance across India's logistics network. The ideal candidate should possess deep expertise in multi-modal logistics, linehaul operations, and national transportation management.
🛠 Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the national transportation strategy for air and surface logistics.
- Design scalable transportation networks to support business expansion.
- Lead and mentor Zonal Transportation Managers across India.
- Oversee nationwide air cargo, linehaul, and local fleet operations.
- Reduce transit times while maintaining high service reliability and network efficiency.
- Develop and implement transportation SOPs for air and surface operations.
- Negotiate commercial agreements with airlines and transportation vendors.
- Manage vendor SLAs, performance metrics, and regulatory compliance.
- Own transportation budgets, P&L, cost optimization, and route planning.
- Drive implementation of Transportation Management Systems (TMS), GPS tracking, and data-driven logistics solutions.
🎓 Eligibility Criteria
- Master's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business Administration.
- 12+ years of experience in multi-modal logistics operations.
- Minimum 5 years of experience leading national air and surface transportation networks.
- Strong knowledge of air cargo operations and surface linehaul networks.
- Experience in vendor negotiations, contract management, and SLA governance.
- Strong financial planning, forecasting, and transportation cost optimization skills.
- Hands-on experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and GPS tracking platforms.
