📝 Job Description
noon is building an ecosystem of digital products and services that power everyday life across the Middle East. noon.com is its core marketplace and one of the region's leading e-commerce platforms, operating across categories and connecting customers with sellers and brands.
The Buyer will be an integral part of the Commercial team in the Home category. The role is responsible for sourcing goods and services in line with cost, quality and delivery targets while managing the complete procurement and PO process. The Buyer will work closely with suppliers and internal teams to optimize inventory, negotiate commercial terms and drive cost efficiencies.
🎯 Key Responsibilities
- Purchase goods, materials, components or services in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets.
- Act as an interface between suppliers and relevant departments during buying processes, new projects and activities.
- Monitor and advise on issues that present risks or opportunities to the organization.
- Identify customer preferences and monitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers.
- Provide analysis on existing and new costs and review cost-reduction activities.
- Negotiate contracts, improve prices and terms of business with suppliers and identify opportunities for business savings.
- Manage the entire PO process to ensure optimal inventory.
- Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships.
- Ensure a professional and consistent approach to supplier relationships.
- Ensure compliance with company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures during supplier negotiations and PO release.
- Visit the market to research products, study market trends and add new suppliers to the supplier base.
- Work with the warehouse to ensure correct inwarding of stocks and resolve process-related issues.
- Work with content and merchandising teams to ensure the best visibility for procured products.
- Ensure all reconciliations are completed within the planned time for smooth payments.
🎓 Eligibility / Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or a similar field.
- Highly detail-oriented with proven strong business sense.
- Analytical, numerically astute and equipped with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Able to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks and achieve set targets.
- Commercial and financial awareness with an understanding of how failures impact customer order fulfilment and profitability.
- Able to work well under pressure and handle emergency and stressful situations.
- Keen attention to detail and accuracy.
