Amazon's Operations team ensures customer orders are fulfilled and dispatched efficiently. As a Logistics Area Manager, you will oversee fulfillment centre operations, lead a team, and help maintain safe, efficient, and high-quality processes while driving productivity improvements.
The role involves shift-based operations, team management, process improvement, performance monitoring, and operational contingency tasks. You will also mentor new managers and collaborate with management colleagues to standardize operating practices.
🔑 Key Responsibilities
- Create, oversee, and promote a culture of safety and wellbeing.
- Analyse and implement changes to maintain high quality and productivity standards.
- Manage projects that streamline processes and improve productivity and customer service.
- Analyse shift performance against business objectives.
- Implement actions to improve operational excellence.
- Collaborate with management-level colleagues to standardize shift practices.
- Manage daily operational activities and team responsibilities at a fulfillment centre.
- Drive process improvements and support their implementation.
- Handle operational contingency tasks when required.
- Act as a role model and mentor to new managers.
🎓 Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- Advanced proficiency in spoken and written Italian (CEFR C1).
- Relevant experience in people management.
- Experience communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including peers and leadership.
- Experience using data or anecdotal evidence to influence business decisions.
- Advanced proficiency in spoken and written English (CEFR C1).

- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications.
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen techniques.
- Experience working in another logistics environment.
💰 Salary & Benefits
- Minimum gross annual base salary: €46,000 for full-time employment.
- Part-time salary, if applicable, is prorated according to working hours.
- Amazon may offer a higher salary or job level depending on skills, competencies, and experience.
- The compensation package may include a sign-on payment.
- Eligible candidates may be considered for a restricted stock unit (RSU) scheme operated independently by Amazon.com Inc. in the USA.
- Statutory benefits, applicable collective agreement benefits, and potentially additional company benefits may apply, subject to the relevant terms.
