📝 Job Description
Amazon is seeking a Team Lead for its Transportation team. The role will be responsible for driving sortation and line haul infrastructure in the region, including identifying new routes.
The role focuses on transportation processes, sortation capacity, station supervisor performance, delivery performance, operational data analysis and continuous process improvement.
🎯 Key Responsibilities
- Define the transportation process from Fulfillment Centers to delivery stations.
- Ensure sufficient bandwidth in the sortation team to support peak-time delivery management.
- Conduct performance appraisals of station supervisors and mentor them to handle efficient operations.
- Continuously improve throughput and attain a sustained level of delivery performance improvement.
- Analyse data reports to identify performance bottlenecks and improve performance.
- Implement formal process control and process improvement mechanisms such as Kaizen.
- Drive sortation and line haul infrastructure in the region.
- Identify new transportation routes as required.
🎓 Eligibility / Qualifications
- Any Graduation.
- Experience in the logistics field is desirable.
- Experience in the courier industry is highly preferred.
- People management experience.
- Experience handling field teams is highly desirable.
- Experience handling live operations, where decisions need to be taken on the spot and actions initiated immediately, is preferred.
- Experience in process improvement is preferred.
- Knowledge of methodologies such as Six Sigma and Kaizen is an additional benefit.
- Fluent in speaking, writing and reading English.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel.
- 1+ years of experience in a customer-facing environment, warehousing, logistics or manufacturing is preferred.
